Amazon’s 2017 Prime Day sale will be on July 11, with select deals starting at 6 p.m. Pacific / 9 p.m. Eastern on July 10. Since this sale requires you to be a Prime member to participate, make sure you have at least a trial membership; we’ll go into more details on whether Prime is worth paying for below.

Leading up to Prime Day, Amazon has started running deals on select services, such as its Music Unlimited service, which is currently less than $1 for four months, after which it goes back to the regular price. If you own one of Amazon’s Echo devices, the company has started its voice-ordering discounts, with an additional $10 back within three days if you’re a new voice-ordering customer. A good way to test this service out is to order the popcorn listed on the page for $2.50—you’ll have a snack and a few bucks profit to prep for Prime Day.

Some additional offers that could come in handy include $10 for streaming an Amazon Prime video through eligible devices and a $10 bonus if you reload $100 or more onto your gift card balance through a debit card.

On Prime Day, you’ll find thousands of one-day-only deals, but very few of them will really be worth your money. That’s where we come in. We’ll be spending all of Prime Day sorting through the thousands of deals and posting only the best ones to our Deals page, our Twitter account, and our Daily Deals newsletter. Last year, our staff scanned nearly 8,000 deals and found only 64 worth posting.
