Solar Powered Tuk-Tuk, New Solar Powered Vehicle

-Naveen, an electrical engineer, spent 3 years developing and designing a solar powered tuk-tuk
-He got the idea for this after being stuck in traffic in India being surrounded by noisy air polluting tuk-tuks
-To raise awareness, Naveen Rabelli drove his solar powered Tuk Tuk from India to the UK
-7 month journey across 9000 miles or 14,484 km. He crossed through 11 countries, 20 cities and 100 towns
-It might shock you to find out that his tuk-tuk only has a top speed of 28 mph or 45 mph
-Despite successfully reaching Britain, his trip didn’t come without challenges. He arrived 5 days later than expected due to having his passport and wallet stolen as well has having 2 batteries die in France.
-Naveen wanted to show the power of clean energy and the potential of a zero emissions tuk-tuk
-‘I thought the tuk-tuk, which is a local icon, would be the best way to showcase an Indian solution to the world’
-He shocked people along the way that his car doesn’t require petrol, he was welcomed with open arms everywhere I drop through with people offering him a place to stay, food and advice.
-Many people wanted selfies with him and his tuk-tuk
-His tuk-tuk has room for himself and 1 passenger, a bed in the back, cupboard for food and a solar powered cooker
-He adjusted to life on the road by bathing in lakes, rivers and even the police station and relied on donated food to carry him through on his journey.
-While travelling through Iran the locals assisted him in smoking horse dung to cure a sore throat
