This collection is named after Henry Albert Fleuss who was a pioneering diving engineer, and Master Diver for Siebe, Gorman & Co. of London.

Henry Albert invented the first selfcontained breathing apparatus for diving, using pure compressed oxygen and was granted a patent for the apparatus in 1878 which freed the diver from having to rely on breathing surface-supplied air.
