Sleepbox - The Future of Travel Hotels?

The sleepbox in an ingenious idea that rents out small hotel boxes by the hour or by the night. The first application of the sleepbox was placing it in an airport but could prove to be popular in many other locations. Sleepbox rooms come 40 sq feet or 3.7 sq meters in size with single or double bed configurations. They rent for $30 an hour or $100 per night. With the sleepbox comes access to shared bathroom and shower facilities. The sleepbox can be setup anywhere and isn’t just for the airport. It’s just a matter of time before we see them popping up everywhere.

The sleepbox is just like a hotel in that you make an online reservation and then you check in once you get there. Current sleepbox is setup in Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport, Stockholm, and will open soon in Washington Dulles Airport, downtown Boston and plans for Atlanta. As this new hotel concept garners attention and gains traction, Sleepbox hopes to see their cheap, space efficient hotels in places like parks and office buildings. The park hotel concept would feature long glass tubes with sleep boxes set in the middle of a park. Not a bad view in the morning that’s for sure.

The office sleepbox has a different design, one that is more compact with basic space to sleep as well as a small desk. This could be a great addition to any office that uses it in certain situation and not to promote employees working all night.
