The Price of Interactive Services

Some popular types of interactive service platforms include Alarm.com and Total Connect 2.0. These services allow users to control their alarm panels and view their current status remotely.

Both Alarm.com and Total Connect 2.0 can be accessed in two main ways The first way is to access the website for the interactive service. This can be done from virtually any computer with an internet connection. The other way to do this is through the mobile app for the interactive service. Both Alarm.com and Total Connect 2.0 provide mobile apps that are available for iOS and Android devices.

Once a user has opened the website or the mobile app, they must login to their Alarm.com or Total Connect 2.0 account. This consists of a username and a password. Once a user has accessed the service, they will be able to control their system in many different ways. Some available options include arming and disarming the system, viewing the current status of sensors, controlling Z-Wave smart home devices, viewing the live feed of cameras and more.

However, using interactive services requires that the feature be enabled by the user's alarm monitoring company. This feature usually costs extra when compared with monitoring plans that do not offer interactive services. This is because an alarm monitoring company will usually need to pay the company running the interactive service extra money to support the feature.

The customer then pays a higher fee to the monitoring company to compensate them for this feature. For Alarm Grid, this can be seen by the fact that the monitoring plans that include access to an interactive service cost more than monitoring plans that do not include an interactive service. A customer should review their company's monitoring plans for more information.

For Alarm Grid customers, all of the Silver, Gold and Platinum level monitoring plans include access to an interactive service, along with home automation features. However, video surveillance through an interactive service is restricted to the Platinum level plans.
