* Brian Peckford on The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, and the Trudeaus’ Attempts to Derail It *

The Honourable Peckford, former Premier of Newfoundland and the last surviving architect of the 1982 Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, begins his talk with People’s Party of Canada leader Maxime Bernier about how then Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau refused to cooperate with the premiers and tried to ram through his own version of the Charter without any consultation, including the revisionist myth of the Night of the Long Knives. Hon. Peckford then goes through sections of the Charter and explains how Justin Trudeau’s COVID mandates have been violating it from the start.
