In order to work with Alarm.com, a Simon XT Alarm System must have an Alarm.com Cellular Communicator installed and activated with an alarm monitoring company. This will require that the user has an alarm monitoring plan that includes cellular connectivity. In addition to offering connectivity with Alarm.com, cellular service will provide extremely reliable communication for the panel in general. It is much superior to the alternative option of POTS (plain old telephone service) connectivity. A POTS connection can be physically cut, and the signal transmissions are generally slow and unreliable. Cellular connectivity is quite fast, and the signals are extremely reliable and consistent.

Once a Simon XT System is connected with Alarm.com, a user will be able to use the service in a number of different ways. The Alarm.com service can be accessed from virtually anywhere using the Alarm.com Mobile App on an Android or iOS device. The app is completely free when downloaded from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Once a user has opened the app, they can perform various functions in relation to their security system. These functions include arming and disarming, checking the status of sensors, controlling Z-Wave smart home devices, viewing the live feed of security cameras and more.

Since these actions can be done through the ADC Mobile App, a user can control their Simon XT System from virtually anywhere in the world. They just need their smartphone and a reliable cellular connection. As long as their system is communicating properly, the command will go through.
