Great Plants for Clay Soil

You could spend a lot of time, money and effort to improve clay or heavy soil, but first, let me suggest some plants that may thrive in your soil just the way it is. Clay does a great job of retaining moisture and nutrients, is slow to warm in the spring, and provides excellent root support to stabilize taller plants. These conditions advantage some plants over others, and in this video I'll list some of my favorite edibles (veggies and fruits) and ornamentals for heavy and clay soil.
