Strawberry Dumplings - Stove Top Strawberry Cobbler – 100 Year Old Recipe – Giveaway

Strawberry dumplings would be the perfect Mother’s Day Breakfast or dessert. They are easy to make and absolutely delicious. They are wonderful right out of the pot, or you can dress them up with fresh whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. If you really want a fancy dessert add a little chocolate drizzle. They are best served hot and fresh, but you can keep the leftovers (if you have any) in the fridge. I never have any leftovers, so I do recommend cutting the recipe in half unless you have help eating them

When I was growing up, we had some variety of fruit dumplings almost every day in the summer when fruit was in season. I am not sure how old this recipe is, but it has been passed down for generations in my family for well over 100 years. My granny told me stories about her granny making them for her when she was a child.

1 pint Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
1 cup Sugar
1 cup Water
2 tablespoons Corn Starch
1 cup Self-Rising Flour or 1 cup AP Flour,
½ tbsp Baking Powder,
¼ tsp salt 2 tablespoons
Real Butter
6 tablespoons Milk
