Inexpensive Tool to Measure swingweight quickly and accurately

Measures swingweight quickly and accurately. Easy to use and move off the workbench when you are done! An economical choice for low to medium volume work.

Swing weight, simply put, is how heavy a golf club feels when you swing it. It is not a finite measurement and is not something measured in grams like the weight of a golf club’s shaft or grip. This measurement was invented in the 1920s to describe the dynamic feel of a golf club as the player swings it.

Breaking it down further, swing weight aims to measure the distribution of weight across the golf club by accounting for four factors. The four factors that come into play when measuring swing weight are:

Weight of the club head
Weight of the grip
Weight of the shaft
Length of the golf club

The swingweight scale goes from A-F with ten increments marked 0 to 9 within each letter category hence swingweights such as C9 or D3.

The greater the letter and the number the heavier the swingweight. Therefore a swingweight of D2 is heavier than a swingweight of C8.

An average off the shelf men's golf club would have a swingweight of around D0 whilst the standard manufactured swingweight for ladies club is approximately C6.
