In this video, Jarret from Alarm Grid shows users how to update the firmware on a Honeywell SiXFOB Key Fob. This is required for getting the SiXFOB operating on the latest version. Most SiX Series devices receive firmware updates from the panel automatically. But the SiXFOB must be updated manually.

Updating the firmware on the Honeywell SiXFOB requires a few different steps. First, the Lyric System should be running the latest firmware version. If the system is not running the latest firmware, you can request an update from the AlarmNet360 Servers. This can be done directly from the panel, as long as the panel is connected with AlarmNet. The Update Firmware option is found within the Installer Tools Menu. Additionally, you can check the current firmware from the Master Tools Menu.

You can continue with the SiXFOB updating process once you have determined that the Lyric System is running the latest firmware. Start by accessing the Master Tools Menu. This menu can be accessed by choosing Security, followed by Tools, and then entering your Master Code. Remember, the Master Code is the main four-digit code you use to Arm and Disarm your system. Do not confuse your Master Code with a standard user code or with the Installer Code that is used to access programming.

From the Master Tools Menu, you can access the Advanced Menu. This menu will provide an option for you to update your SiXFOB devices. Press the Start button when you are ready to perform the update. You must then press and hold all four buttons on the SiXFOB device. This will update all the zones used with the key fob. You can then exit the menu and return to the home screen. The Honeywell SiXFOB Key Fob and its associated zones will be updated accordingly.
