Have there been times in your life where you feel that you are flourishing with the Lord? Bible reading is alive, singing songs is effortless, as well as praying to Him? Then a day comes where it is like a closed shop. There is nothing, no strength to pray, everything becomes effort and singing is to hard.

That day can easily turn into a week, three weeks even months. For some even years. As I get older I am very aware of earthly mortal time, and that each day "ordained" for us will come and go, and never happen again. In a sense we are traveling through time to a timeless world called heaven.

If the enemy, who is the Robber, can convince you that you must wait for open doors into a ministry. To entice you by getting you to buy into the notion that you must wait for a "divine appointment" that will usher you into a ministry. To seduce you into thinking that you must not go ahead of the Lord or you will ruin everything and will not be able to use you.

If he can get you to accept these as truth, then you will waste valuable, precious, irrevocable time that you will never get back. You see, Jesus said, "the Spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak." When it comes down to it, hour by hour you have a life to live. Being used by the Lord and laboring for Him is not what the standardized thought is.

It is how you are treating others, walking in Christ in sincerity towards Him in service to your family. In the most mundane common things you do for a living day by day. Never let yourself fall into that temptation that you are not valuable to the Lord, and can not be used. Whole lifetimes have been wasted in the supposed "waiting for the Lord."

Are you willing? The Holy Spirit is willing. Your flesh will always be weak, but it is up to you to resist the tempter and go forth. Really there is nothing he can do to stop you in anything you make up your mind to do. There is nothing he can do to a saint that rises up in the weakness of their flesh with willingness towards Jesus Christ. That saint just forges past him and the common life becomes a great work of loving service filled with joy to Jesus Christ, and the Father in heaven.

"He who does not serve God where he is would not serve God anywhere else.”

~ Charles H. Spurgeon
