The Number of IQ Key Fob Devices Supported by a Qolsys IQ Panel 2

In this video, Jorge from Alarm Grid explains how many Qolsys IQ Key Fob devices can be added to a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 System. Each fob will require one (1) wireless zone on the panel. Since the panel supports 128 wireless zones, you can theoretically use up to 128 Qolsys IQ Key Fob devices on an IQ2.

The Qolsys IQ Fob-S is a wireless key fob that operates at a frequency of 319.5 MHz. When used with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 or compatible IQ Panel 2 Plus, it will utilize S-Line rolling code encryption for enhanced wireless security. This will prevent others from hacking or spoofing the key fob. As a 319.5 MHz key fob, it can be used with both the original Qolsys IQ Panel 2 and the 319.5 MHz version of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus. It cannot be used with the 345 MHz and 433 MHz versions of the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 Plus.

There are four (4) identifiable buttons on the Qolsys IQ Fob-S. There is an arming button, a disarm button, an automation button, and an auxiliary panic button. The actual functions of these buttons will depend on which Sensor Group is selected when programming the key fob device. The device measures in at 2.5"L x 1.3"W x 0.55"D. It also features an LED light to verify inputs. The key fob has a wireless range of roughly 100 feet.

It should be noted that if you go to Settings, then Advanced Settings, then Installer or Dealer Code (1111 or 2222 respectively), then Installation, then Installer or Dealer Settings and scroll down, you can disable the option of "Open/Close Reports allowed for Auto Learn". This will prevent faults from already installed sensors from being recognized while the panel is in "Auto Learn Sensor" mode.
