In this video, Michael from Alarm Grid shows you how to delete a wireless zone from an Interlogix or GE Simon XTi or Simon XTi-5. Both the Simon XTi and the Simon XTi-5 follow the same exact programming process. When you want to delete a sensor, you must access the programming menu for the system. The option to delete sensors is found within the Sensors Menu of programming. Only sensors that are actively enrolled with the system can be deleted. Once a sensor is deleted from the system, it must be re-enrolled if you want to use it with the system again.

The Simon XTi and Simon XTi-5 are wireless all-in-one panels that readily support 319.5 MHz wireless sensors. This includes sensors from Interlogix, GE, Qolsys, and more. There are also various third-party 319.5 MHz sensors, such as the VERSA-GE Door and Window Contact Sensor. Each sensor will take up at least one zone on the system. This is important because the Simon XTi and Simon XTi-5 only have 40 available zones each. This is a very limited number of wireless zones. And if you need to make space for a new wireless sensor, then you will need to delete a zone to free up space.

The Delete Sensors menu is accessed from panel programming. You will need to provide the Installer Code for the system to enter programming. The default Installer Code for the Simon XTi or Simon XTi-5 is 4321. Once you enter the Delete Sensors Menu, you will be able to scroll through a list of programmed sensors and choose which one to delete. Sensors are organized by SN, which in this case stands for Sensor Number. You want to be very sure that you are deleting the proper sensor. If you delete the wrong one by mistake, then it will need to be re-programmed with the system.
