EP 121 | What Is really Happening With Ukraine and Russia?

The situation is being hyped by the US government and includes a giant miss on its intelligence prediction that Russia would invade on Feb 16. Nevertheless, Washington is doubling down on its allegations that Russia is planning to use a false flag attack as a pretext to invade Ukraine Russia says the US failed to give a "constructive response" to its proposal, which includes the rejection of NATO membership for Ukraine and Georgia. The US is insisting again that Russia is "involved" in "false flag" moves even though it still hasn't offered any actual proof to support these allegations. After days of conflicting reports about Russian troop movements from NATO and myriad media sources, the Biden Administration and its incessant warnings about an impending invasion have become the butt of jokes across the Internet... and even the Russians are poking fun at our capabilities, not that it isn’t well deserved. However, this may be all fun and games but there are war torn areas of Eastern Ukraine in the Donbass region and late in the week, shelling and small arms fire has occurred at similar levels to previous ceasefire violations in the region, with both sides already blaming the other for starting the incident. Nearly simultaneously the deputy US Ambassador to Russia was expelled by Moscow. This incident only serves to highlight why now is the time to take a step back and exercise extreme patience by Russia and the US/NATO until all the facts about these types of activity are resolved. More questions remain about what is happening and why than there are answers. We’ll wade through the facts and the reality with a good friend of the show John Mills, a retired Army Colonel and former Department of Defense Director, Cybersecurity Policy, Strategy, International Affairs.
