Day 1 of IPL mega auction has seen some big money being splurged by the IPL teams. Uncapped players were sold for astronomical amounts as Rahul Tripathi was bought for Rs 8.5 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad, up from his base price of Rs 40 lakh. South Africa's U19 World Cup Star Dewald Brevis was bought for Rs 3 crore by Mumbai Indians while little known Karnataka batter Abhinav Sadarangani was bought for Rs 2.6 crore by Gujarat Titans. Earlier, Ishan Kishan is the biggest buy of day 1 as Mumbai Indians paid a whopping Rs 15.25 crore to keep him. An intense bidding war was witnessed for Deepak Chahar, with 4 teams locked in a big fight. He was eventually kept at CSK for Rs 14 crore.
