First Corinthians again 15. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is what? Death. Now people, no matter what our best friends say about death this is what the Word says: that it's an enemy. And you and I have to say even to our best friends what the Word says.

[27] For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he said all things are put under him, it is manifested that he [Jesus Christ] is excepted [from being put under], which did [Christ] put all things under him.

And yet the manifestation of death being put under him has not yet been declared, in evidence, because it's still a what? An Enemy. And it will finally have to be destroyed and when that is destroyed:

Verse 28: When all things shall be subdued unto him. then [T-H-E-N then and not until then] shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in [what?] all.

If Jesus Christ is God how could he be subject unto himself? I don't know. So we are just so terribly confused about Jesus, aren't we? How could we have been so confused? Oh not difficult I guess, because you can't believe beyond what you're taught and if you're taught confusion you live in confusion. You think it's right.

Do you remember Acts 2 on the day of Pentecost? Peter gave that sermon at the close of which he said in Acts 2, look at it again. Refresh our minds.

[Acts 2:38] Then Peter said unto them: repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall [lambano the gift].

Baptized everyone in the name of Jesus Christ, not water, but baptized in the name. And you get baptized in the name when you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, which is repentance. To repentant is to confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, believe God raised him from the dead. That's what verse 29 is talking about. If in this life, if it in this life only we have hope in Christ, we're of all men most miserable.

[29] Else what are they doing which are baptized [with the presence of Christ, in the name of Christ].

If they're baptized in the name of Christ, you know, not water. But there's nothing in here, it's for dead bodies. Because a man is just body and what? Soul. And he's never going to be what? Raised up in any way shape or form. That's why just be no, no Christ; just dead body. This verse 29 has really been a difficult one for most people. I'll give it to you once more. And I'm sure some of the old timers in here have this all written out so you can get it from them after the service if you're a relative newcomer and you've never heard me handle this scripture before.

Verse 29: Else what are they doing which are baptized? Question. It is for dead bodies if the dead rise not at all. [that's right] Period. Why are they then baptized? for the dead? It wouldn't help him any would it? No resurrection. That's why he says in:

Verse 30: And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
[31] I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
[32] If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? [See? If this is not true, then] let us eat drink; for tomorrow we [may what?] die.

That whole philosophy of that last verse is what we see in concretion in our society today. Let's just eat and drink and raise hell and just have a barrel of nothing or fun or something else because there's nothing hereafter anyways. That's why you have all this Playboy emphasis, all of these power prestigious, all of this for the very reason of the accuracy of that great verse. Let us eat and drink for tomorrow we what? Sorry, there's nothing after life, no resurrection, no coming of Christ, nothing. So boy, let's just get the other fellow, let's just do as we want too, I'm only a law to myself. Long as it satisfies me, it doesn't make any difference if it hurts you because I'm 21 years old and what I do with my life is my business. Baloney. That's right. What I do with my life has everything to do with what you do because my life must bless your life, your life must bless my life. If the Word is right and the Word is right. Christ did rise from the dead. But if people do not believe in Christ or in his resurrection, they will not believe in his return. (continued)
