• Is 44:1-4 God continued from the previous chapter, where he chastised the children of Israel for their spiritual laxity and now in this verses, He is stretching out the hand of mercy towards them. Specifically, God reminded them of their creation, the need to 'fear not' because they were chosen by Him. If God chooses you, no one's hatred or dislike would harm you. More so, God promised to pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground and His Spirit (Holy Spirit) on their descendants, which is you and I today. The end result would be that children born in the descendants will grow in grace and in health like grass in well-watered fields, and willows by the watercourses.

• Is. 44:5 This is talking about a time when Israel will be proud of belonging to God. If we are truly God's, we should be unashamed and delighted to let everyone know about our relationship with him.

• Isa. 44:6-8 God listed repeatedly, who He is to the children of Israel. He is their Redeemer, The Lord of hosts, The first and the last and no other God besides Him. It was God‘s purpose to keep steadily before the minds of the Jews, these great truths; and to keep it in the world, and ultimately to diffuse it abroad among the nations. This was one of the leading reasons why he selected them as a special people, and separated them from the rest of mankind, just as He has done to us today.

Personal Supplication
Father, in the name of Jesus help me not to take Your kindness, tolerance and patience with me for granted, but to follow through and be who You want me to be. Rom. 2:4 NLT
4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

Because I have made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, my habitation;
There shall no evil befall me neither shall any plague come nigh my dwelling.
For God shall give his angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways.
They shall bear me up in their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone.
I shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt I trample under feet.
Because I have set my love upon God, therefore will He deliver me: He will set me on high, because I have known His name.
I shall call upon Him, and He will answer me: He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me, and honour me.

With long life will God satisfy me, and shew me His salvation.
So shall it be for me and my household today and forever, Amen and Amen!
