Worked example problem on potential energy diagrams. You are encouraged to challenge and test your knowledge by first attempting the problem and then comparing your answer.

A particle with a mass of 2 kg is attached to a spring and starts at rest at x = 0.8m. The potential energy in the spring is described by the function below. calculate the positions where the force in the spring is zero and determine the velocity of the particle at x = 2m.
