Iceland - "land of ice"

Iceland - "land of ice" or "ice country" is an island state located in the west of Northern Europe in the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean (northwest of Great Britain), in the north and northeast it is washed by the Arctic Ocean. The territory of the state consists of the island of the same name with an area of 103 thousand km² and small islands around it. Iceland is a founding member of NATO and a member of the Schengen Agreement, but is not a member of the European Union.
