Not much has been said about the chimeric aspect of coronavirus. With influenza season now upon us, pan-hemispheric travel moving influenza from south to north, little in mitigation measures being observed by many, an extremely contagious omicron combined with influenza sounds like a disaster-in-the-making for hospitals and medical personnel already pressed for space and by enough workers...even if omicron itself winds up relatively mild. Some expectations along these lines?
