Vladimir Putin orders ‘peacekeeping’ operation in Ukraine

President Vladimir Putin has ordered Russian troops to conduct a “peacekeeping” mission in two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine after recognising the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk.
