During the 2020 lockdowns, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s administration ordered all churches to shut their doors, while at the same time allowing liquor shops, marijuana dispensaries, and big box retailers to stay open. However, in the city of Pasadena, Pastor Ché Ahn fought back against the state, took his case all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, and ultimately won—and in that process, he secured religious freedom for all churches across America.
