Flying the Red Duster

Australia's 1st flag was selected in the Australian Flag competition of 1901. Despite new flags coming out 2 years later (modified by Edward VII), the Red Duster was flown into the 1950s. It seems especially prominent with ANZAC solders and their families.

I added an archive of the notes and pictures (updated 6may22). The date of 1900 on the first image may be an error on trove, as the original has a date ranging from 1880ish to 1930ish.

And here is the program that created the notes, tangentnotes.com which is in alpha stage so newer versions may not work properly until bugs are ironed out.
