The Type 1 Chi-He is a Japanese medium tank. The Type 1 Chi-He medium tank was a further development of the Type 97 Chi-Ha. It was developed in 1941, but due to the lack of steel, production did not start until 1943. A total of 170 tanks were manufactured. Most of them were held for the defense of Japan and never saw combat.
