Rome is one of those cities everybody should visit. When we were in Florence, Italy we decided to do a day trip on the train to Rome. We left at around 8:00 am and the train ride is about 90 mins. This left us with approximately 10 hours to explore Rome. We were able to see the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. We took the subway and walked all day with our two small children. It ended up being a great day and something we would recommend to everyone who is thinking of doing a day trip to Rome.
