“Feeling Good” was written by English composers Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley for the musical “The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd”, which was first performed on stage in 1964. In 1965, American singer, songwriter and musician Nina Simone covered the track on her 1965 album “I Put a Spell on You”. Simone’s version was arranged and produced by Hal Mooney.

“Feeling Good” was recorded in New York. The jazz song details a beautiful day with the sun shining high, a beautiful breeze and birds flying high, all used to emphasize the sense of happiness and hope in the song.
