The so-called Sugar Gliders earned their name from their love of eating nectar and blooms but they eat creepy crawlies as well. Their Latin name Petaurus Breviceps implies a short-headed rope artist. The sugar glider was really introduced into Tasmania in 1835 and remains the only species of lightweight flyer in the area. The sugar glider is broadly utilized within the pet trade, particularly within the USA.
