1 Year Anniversary of Being Forced Into Homeless Shelter Due to Violence and Theft

Yesterday marked the 1st Anniversary of us being accepted into the only homeless shelter in Tallahassee that accepts families, HOPE ( Big Bend Homeless Coalition subsidiary). Why victims of violence whose money was stolen would be forced into a shelter is shameful. Still being here 1 year later despite asking for help and repeatedly applying for assistance and not receiving it is even more shameful. Tallahassee Police Dept directed us here when we asked for Victim's Assistance and to speak to a prosecutor. This was the extent of their assistance and we were never referred to a prosecutor.
