If you are planning on training your cat, this article will help guide you to the right way. It is important to know that a lot of people have their cats when they get older so it important for them to train him or her to do some daily chores. Cats like being trained and they are happy with that. You can also take these tips and advice and make sure to pass some of them to yourself as well. We will discuss some things in this post you should not overlook when it comes to training your cat.

1) Know About Training Time

It is very important that you don't rush into training your cat. The first thing you need to understand is how old he or she is. When you think of all the activities your cat likes. Do you think about training his or her? No, I am talking about going with the same routine every day. Take your time and plan for your cats to be trained properly so they won't get mad at you every day. Don't rush into pet training because you just want to keep him or her busy and it's better to handle their needs. Many people find it hard to train their cats because they are just too young to understand the concept. They might understand it but they may not feel comfortable with it. For example, dogs are used to running around the house and jumping around. So, they start with that but eventually learn to run around the streets as well. It takes some time to know what to expect from your cats and to see that you are doing everything you can with them. Just remember, patience is required but once your cat starts to learn then you will have no reason to slow down.

2) Schedule Him Or Her On An Activity

Make sure your cat is not bored by the time he or she needs to learn some new tasks. Let him be on an activity every evening after dark. Dogs on their regular activity schedule. Make sure he or she doesn't get tired by the end of training or anything is wrong with him or her or if they have any health issues or other reasons he is not allowed to use some of the tools they have been given. Once your cat gets used to one activity and you let go by not using it. If the cat is in pain, give him medicine instead. Get familiar with the activity. Give it to them in your way and enjoy their new found freedom. Even a little bit of noise and movement can work. This will increase the chances of the cat learning quickly.

3) Pick Them Up At Night

You might think it is better to not wake up your cats up. But, try it out. Cats love sleeping right after waking up. Wake them up around 3:00pm or 4:00pm and let them sleep for about 60 minutes. There will be a whole bunch of side effects of letting them sleep for a long time. One is they will not get bored and will stay awake most of the night. Another is when it comes to eating and drinking. Cats are water animals and they hate being wet. Not only does they get thirsty, they also become sick and in some cases may start vomiting and having diarrhea.

Also, some cats get allergies and they have to be on a medication just in case. Then there are the smells. Cats don't smell smells right away hence it is best if they wake up in the morning, they can smell the cat's scent for a while. Cats eat the same food everyday so they will be on the same diet. With all this, it is easy for them to learn and the reward system is great. Also, many pets love exercise. If you allow your cat in the garden and he plays with the trees, flowers and the grass, then you are giving him the exercise he requires. He will learn that moving is fun and he will not get upset that you are away.

4) Play Games

Dogs are similar to humans in that both enjoy playing games. If you can teach your cat games then he will know more about the surroundings and will be able to play around with each of its senses without you even knowing. Some examples of games you could use for your cat are hiding the flashlight under trees. Hide the flashlight in the tree for a few seconds until he finds it. As you move closer you will notice the flashlight disappearing so when you hide it again, move closer and when you reach closer you will observe that it is still there. Other examples would be hiding an object in your house with lots of toys. Put the toy on the ground and pretend that you are going shopping. Show the cat by putting clothes over your shoulders and pretending to shop. Cats love surprises and they will be ecstatic when a surprise is up on Christmas for instance.
