Tropical Storm Ana originated in the southwestern Indian Ocean and moved to the east coast of Africa, carrying heavy rainfall, accompanied by squally winds.
As a result of the destruction, flooding and landslides caused by the arrival of tropical storm Ana, 41 people died in the island nation of Madagascar, which was the first to hit by storm Ana, 18 in Mozambique and 11 in Malawi.
Several hundred people were injured, tens of thousands of houses were destroyed. So, in Madagascar, 110 thousand people were forced to leave their homes due to floods, people are placed in schools. In Mozambique, 500 thousand people suffered from the effects of a tropical storm. About 10 thousand houses were destroyed. Malawi, neighboring Mozambique, has declared a natural disaster.
