A craniectomy is a form of mind surgical treatment wherein docs eliminate a segment of someone's skull. doctors do this surgical procedure to ease the strain on the mind that takes place due to swelling or bleeding. For a craniotomy, doctors open the skull the same way. However, they replace the bone when they have finished operating.
