One of the things that I never imagined when I was growing up in Greensboro, North Carolina, in the 1950s and 60s and even early 70s is that the day would come when we would walk around with our telephones -that we would take our phones with us everywhere - that when we're leaving our houses, after checking to see we have our keys, we would check to see, "Oh my god, do I have my phone?" " Oh my God, is my phone charged?" I just didn't see that coming.
