Not far from the South Island of New Zealand, at a depth of 0.7 miles, baby elephant sharks, or ghost sharks, as they are called in the common people, were discovered.

The skeletons of these creatures are entirely composed of cartilage, which is why the animals take on an absolutely unearthly appearance. And in the stomachs of the found baby sharks, there is also yolk, which chimeras feed on during development, due to which their survival rate is higher than that of adults!
