PILLS I TOOK - Hank Williams III (Those Poor Bastards) Cover Performed by JangoMike

In case you didn't know already, one of my ALL time favorite musicians is Hank Williams III (Hank 3, Hank III). He is the Grandson of Legendary Hank Williams and of course, Son to Hank Williams Jr......but regardless, on his own, in his own right, the dude is a stellar musician with so much damn talent and skills; in so many different genres and styles of music, its almost impossible to describe in a simple paragraph. On top of that, he does what he wants, his way, anyway it needs to be done and is basically as independent as it gets. Which is right up my alley and my style. So to say he inspires me and motivates me to do what I do is an understatement.

Anyways, I love to jam his Outlaw style country song on guitar and mess around, so I figured I should do one of my A.D.D weirdo covers/videos of one of the many songs I love by this dude. If you were to describe how this version sounds, it reminds me, in perhaps a fever dream or acid trip like way; what it would sound like if Les Claypool and Hank 3 decided to jam this song together, because I completely reimagine the Bass Guitar parts to be more funky sounding and replaced the Slide Guitar Solos with Bass Guitar Slap Funk stuff....I know I know.....weird shit, but thats what I do!

The song is originally a Those Poor Bastards song, but I originally discovered it thru Hank 3s music first. So mad respects to Those Poor Bastards

Cheers!

Lyrics:
Well, I've been awake for eight days straight
Well, it must've been them pills I took
I been twitchin' an' turnin' an' seein' visions
It must've been them pills I took
Well, I don't know what they were
An' I don't know where I got 'em
But, they sure did make me feel good
They kept my heart from feelin' blue
An' kept my thoughts away from you
Well, there's blood on the carpet an' holes in the walls
Well, it must've been them pills I took
Yeah, the mirrors are all busted an' someone's cryin'
It must've been them pills I took
I've lied an' I've stole an' I ain't fuckin' jokin'
It must've been them pills I took
Yeah, the mirrors are all busted an' someone's cryin'
It must've been them pills I took
I still don't know if it were an' I don't know where I got 'em
But they sure did make me feel good
They kept my heart from feelin' blue
An' kept my thoughts away from you
