Fog Bound on an Icicle - Chapter 3 - The Aleutian Islands Campaign
My Grandpa's story of piloting B24s in The Aleutian Islands Campaign during WW2. This battle is known as "The Forgotten Battle", but it was just as important as Midway in the Pacific Theater. Frank was a pilot, colonel, and squad commander in the US Army Air Corps. He was an extremely brave man, a passionate fisherman who died in a test flight of an experimental jet aircraft. He was long gone before I was born, so all I know are the stories Grandma told us. Along with a few photos and newspaper clippings, we bring the history to life.
