He Lives Thousands of Miles Away! Can We Be Exclusive?

I met this guy on tinder before Covid, and we felt a sort of connection right away..

We talked a lot and thought we should become exclusive even though we haven’t yet met in person. I agreed even though we are thousands of miles away, because I didn’t think it would take this much time to meet.

Due to some personal problems, he still cannot come see me in my country anytime soon, and it might take a year or so.

The question is: how do I get out of this relationship without feeling that I am going to miss something great in the future— that might or might not happen anyway?
