Relax a moment

The polar region is the center of the Earth's magnetic field. When particles enter and are trapped in the Van Allen Belt, these particles will be carried by the wind to the poles of the earth's magnetic field.

This condition is the reason the aurora phenomenon only occurs at the poles.
