GetGoodDrums (Reaper Compatible) full song play through. (Midi graph shown the entire video!)

I made this video to show friends on a budget what working with the most "budget" drums (VST virtual drums) looks like on the midigraph in music production software AKA Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs for short).

In this music I was going for a "Real" sounding drums approach when writting and mixing, which is what the GetGoodDrums drumpacks on Kontakt are excellent at making possible.

Although this is being made in Cubase8, everything I am using, from the drums to the effects I used on them, are compatible with Reaper (arguably the best DAW on a budget).

I've personally loaded the VST Kontakt with the GetGood drum pack used here in my copy of Reaper. I Also loaded all the effects I used in order to verify I could get the exact same sound in Reaper. However, I don't intend on remixing this entire song (Which I would have to do in order to make the drums sound right in the mix) just to show it can be done in reaper.

The interface shown here would look reasonably similar in Reaper. The way you write the notes in reaper is generally the same as CUbase minus the Duplicate feature (Which some say you can program in Reaper if you're savvy). There are many different Reaper themes available online to make it feel (a little) more like many other DAWs out there. I tried one that looked CUbase-ish...

Coming from CUbase I feel disoriented by the key commands, especially when editing; which reminds me more of my limited experience with video editing than it does CUbase. I think I could manage to gain speed with experience in Reaper but it does not have a few features I refuse to loose; like note analyzation within each audio event which allows me to see how close to in-tune I am and can pull off small pitch corrections transparently, all within 5-6 clicks as soon as you have audio in a track in CUbase. How to select multiple events and even moving around the project is so different than CUbase that I have a hard time doing basic editing without getting very frustrated. But I imagine if I learned on Reaper from the start I could easily do everything I've ever done in CUbase with extremely similar results in the end.
