Worked example problem on the work-energy theorem. You are encouraged to challenge and test your knowledge by first attempting the problem and then comparing your answer.

A wooden crate with a mass of 5 kg is dragged along a surface with a cable. The cable is released and the crate has an initial speed of 5 m/s as shown. The static and kinetic friction coefficients are 0.62 and 0.4, respectively. Calculate the maximum distance d travelled by the crate.
