Shay's 1st AR Range Day

Took one of My Littles to the range with me today for her first ever AR shoot. It was a bit cold and breezy but had a great time anyways. Upon arrival, there was a massive man there shooting a competition .22 bolt action. The way he had his custom .22 built, it was worth well-over $1,500 dollars. I mean, a NIIIICE .22! As Shay and I were setting up she mentions how cool it is, so I ask the man about his gun. Short story made shorter, he loaded his amazing little rifle with a full mag, and we sat Shay under it. Missed her first few shots by inches then adjusted her sight picture and was busting small pieces of broken clay pigeons at 55 yards. First time squeezing the trigger on anything bigger than a Daisy or Crossman. She fell in love with the lax shooting the .22 offers, but was anxious to shoot the AR. I loaded her a full mag and sat her behind it with it propped for stability. Told her it was "loaded and on SAFE, Go hot when you're ready," She had a momentary glitch and got a bit of cold feet, so I told her "You've done all the hard part, squeezing the trigger is the easy part...Squeeze the trigger." She was instantly hooked! She put about 120 rounds down range, and never complained. I actually shot very few today. It was more fun to watch her shoot than shooting it myself. She has already requested a rifle of her own and insists that she's going with me to the range every time now. lol These things...
