This edition of Beer Lab has Big Al and Charlie concocting a mixed drink using a Russian Imperial Stout as the base. The beer is Birthday Bänger, brewed by Põhjala Brewery of Tallinn, Estonia. This brew is extremely dark, rich and sweet with no head and a chocolate cake-like aroma. Great beer by itself; so why mess with it? Well, though a beer from Estonia is pretty unique already, the guys think it should be uniquer...uniquier...even more unique! Making a cocktail that will be the "first time I ever had that" kind of drink was the idea and adding about a third more original RumChata to the base seemed to get the results they were after!
