Production of the M4A2 tank
began in June 1942
it would have had a welded hull
and one piece cast nose,
with a 75mm cannon.
And was manufactured
by Fisher Tank Arsenal
It would have had a
GM 6046 twin diesel engine.

This version was produced with all the
improvements
the other types got, like
the large hatch hull.

M4A2 was mostly supplied
to other Allied countries under
Lend-Lease.

The M4A2 would see
limited combat in the US Army
and the French and British,
would use them the most
and then the
Russians and USMC in the Pacific.

The M4A2 would perform fairly well
and would see service
after the war and would see many
upgrades
Like the HVSS E8 tracks and,
the 76mm M1 gun.

This Sherman with serial
number 13859,
was built by Pullman Standard.
It has no combat history and
It was saved from
the Bourges target
range in France and was
restored and placed at the
Place du General Pershing.
Because the major of
the town seems to
be really interested in
WWII history and wanted a Sherman
tank memorial in his town.

You can also find a German
WW1 Feldhaubitze next
to this Sherman.
