Does a 1 watt laser have enough energy to still generate heat on an object at 58 yards?

I was curious to see if a 1 watt laser with about a 2”-3” diameter beam spot on tree at 58 yards still have enough energy to produce a heat signature. The answer was most definitely yes, in only 3-4 seconds it was visible. Outside temperature 28 degrees.
