Stranger In A Strange Land Skins It Back

The Mayor relates to Leon Russell's "Stranger in a Strange Land." He says it's the story of his life of being like a square peg in a round hole most of the time. So, we decided to start there for today's Segue City Special. Then we threw in a special version of Little Feat's "Skin It Back" as the Tower of Power Horn Section is backing the band up with Lowell George singing.

And as we all know the Tower of Power is like bacon. Bacon makes everything better. The Mayor said so. He also said be careful out there today and don't get into a firefight over that 20' big screen TV....

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...
