In this tutorial video, we'll explain how long it takes for your deed to be recorded by the county clerk after closing, when you can expect to receive a copy of the recorded deed, and how long it will take for your name to show up as the owner in county public records.

We'll go over real, sample documents and examples that show you what a recorded warranty deed looks like for a transaction in Miami, Florida and what the stamp from the county clerk's office looks like. We'll also give you tips on how to check the credentials of the closing agent, broker and various other parties in a transaction to give yourself more peace of mind that your closing was done on the up and up.

Remember that the best way to put yourself at ease is to work with an agent that you trust, and a closing attorney that you know and trust. Wire fraud is surprisingly common, so always remember to double and triple-check the wire information that you receive. If anything smells fishy, remember to trust but verify.

If for some reason the seller has opted to pay for title insurance and choose the closing agent, then you may want to enlist your own attorney to review everything even though this is not common. After all, the additional fee you pay to have your own lawyer review everything might well be worth it from a peace of mind perspective.
