Painting landscape with cows in oils - stage 2

In this video shows stage 2 of a painting after one finishes the drawing and underpainting. The purpose of the underpainting is to establish the basic shapes and tonal values. This also helps me to see better what I need to change as I progress through the painting. I usually paint the first layer with the basic colours of the objects as close as possible to the value. In the areas where I am planning to develop the light I use complementary colours, hence the purplish colours of the ground behind the cows. In stage 2 I start adjusting those values, shapes and colours to develop more form while adding details. Same areas might be darkened while others lightened, but trying to adhere to the principle of moving from dark to light.
