Course introduces architectures, models, protocols, and networking elements. You’ll even get the chance to build simple local area networks (LANs). Developing a working knowledge of IP addressing schemes, foundational network security, you'll be able to perform basic configurations for routers and switches.
Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
Configure and troubleshoot connectivity a small network using security best practices.
I am not able to provide a copy of the packet tracer files or the powerpoint files to the public. Please contact your Netacad instructor for a copy.
I have been teaching Cisco Netacad courses since 2000 and teaching information technology subjects in higher education for several years before that.

So this one is all about the Maths, we look at Decimal, Binary and Hexadecimal numbering and how we can convert between them all.
This is needed as we use decimal numbers to represent IPv4 addresses and Hexidecimal in IPv6 and MAC addresses. But the equipment uses binary.
It is all a little scary to start with but it becomes clear as we use it more and work through some exercises.
