I Won't Back Down and I Won't Go Home

The late Tom Petty starts off the Segue City Special today into Maroon 5 for a "statement" segue about not backing down nor going home. The Mayor really likes that Petty tune and it works for the purposes we need for today. He was bloviating the other day about how this holiday season is both better and worse at the same time than last year's. With everything becoming so politicized and polarized we've gone from a "Winter Wonderland" to a "Witless Wondermess" but it's Hump Day so we'll spend the rest of it drooling over things we can order for Christmas online... and can we get this stuff delivered in the next 30 minutes?

Segue City will be a recurring short-form programming element of "The Big Kahuna" - one of GET's developmental Internet Radio formats created by Dain Schult. It will also be expanded as a part of that format and finally evolve into a full, long-form programming element on its own. It’s all a part of GET’s radio division – American Internet & Radio (“AIR”).

The feature will be available for integration into other AIR Classic Rock terrestrial stations in the future as well. It revives the art of mixing two songs together in a seamless pattern where it is tough to tell where the first song ended and the second one began. Sometimes the segues may also revolve around thematic ideas like matching or similar song titles. We'll try anything because no two Segue City Specials will ever be exactly the same...

At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; Our talent is on loan from God. We just pray He'll let us finish another segue for tomorrow... if you liked today's segue, our Mayor is known as the Silver Haired Man of Rock n' Roll. At least that’s the idea… your mileage may vary, check with your dealer; so, you don’t forget order before midnight; operators standing by for your important call; offer void where prohibited by law and that normally means it's legal everywhere but in New Mexico... is that gun really loaded or not? How was it able to fire itself?

This feature is a three-time winner of the Thomas J. Duke Memorial Music Segue and BBQ Cook-Off Award.
