Guitar Learning Journey: "Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words)" vocals cover
"Fly Me to the Moon", originally titled "In Other Words", is a song written in 1954 by Bart Howard.
Introduced by Felicia Sanders, who recorded it in the late 50s.
However, first recorded and released by musical actress Kaye Ballard in Spring 1954 on Decca 29114.
Around the same time, she apparently made the cover of Life Magazine.
Shortly afterwards, the song became better known as Fly Me To The Moon.
Frank Sinatra's 1964 version was closely associated with the Apollo missions to the Moon.
In 1999, the Songwriters Hall of Fame honored "Fly Me to the Moon" by inducting it as a "Towering Song".
